[01.29.11] Tiger JK and Yoon Mirae Sends Message to Brazilian Fans

January 29, 2011 will be remembered in the history of Brazilian KPOP fandoms. A Brazilian TV station called Rede TV! aired an over 7 minutes special only talking about KPOP on the TV show “Leitura Dinamica”. Since the the last week, the cultural editor of the show, Mauricio Varnum, has been in contact with the Brazilian kpop fans looking for references, reviews… a real in-depth research about the actual presence of this musical genre that dominates the asian music market and now catch the world’s attention, and specially in Brazil.

As a surprise to all Brazilian fans, Tiger JK (Drunken Tiger) and his wife, Yoon Mirae, recorded a lovely video thanking all the fans in Brazil for love and support KPOP, they also thanked the tv show for the opportunity and for spread Korean Music in Brazil. The message was just a preview before the KPOP special.

[01.25.11] DOK2 and Double K – “Flow 2 Flow” Released

The album has finally arrived!

Southern style hip-hop artist DOK2 and Super Rappin’ Double K started off the year 2011 with a bang by announcing their project album ‘Flow 2 Flow‘.  Previously, DOK2 and Double K impressed hip-hop fans through their dynamic skills in tracks such as ‘훔쳐 (Steal)’, and ‘ADVICE’ and received extremely positive response when they first announced this project last year.

The project album ‘Flow 2 Flow‘ is not only a long-term project between the hip-hop duo, but is an “ILL PROJECT” demonstrating ten years of hip-hop experience, friendship and respect. The album features latin-beat and title track ‘21st Century Traveler’, emotional track ‘Lost‘, battle-rap style track ‘I Won’t Lose‘, ‘Advice 2‘, and southern hip-hop style tracks ‘Break Beatz‘ and ‘Die Legend 3‘.

I discovered this song just yesterday and felt inclined to share it here. This song features artists including Tasha (Yoonmirae), Tiger JK, Roscoe Umali, Dumbfoundead and Tablo and Mithra of Epik High. Other featured artists include BIGRYZN, MOSHPIT, Tassho Pearce, Jay Jaballas, and King Kapisi. I’m not familiar with the latter group of artists, but they all killed the track! The beat was produced by the famous DJ Honda.

[01.10.11] DOK2 and Double K’s ‘Flow 2 Flow’ Countdown to Release

Korean hip-hop artists DOK2 and Double K has kept the fans on their toes since last year when they first announced their collaborative project LP, ‘Flow 2 Flow‘. Recently, both DOK2 and Double K tweeted about their progress:

@notoriousgonzo: “Dok2&Double K Flow 2 Flow LP 12 Tracks completed recording today!!! Mixing is almost completed as well! Mastering & Album drop coming REAL soon!!!”

@killakor: “Flow2flow album recording complete!!!! 12 track!!!”

The project LP ‘Flow 2 Flow‘ has been highly anticipated since last year and is expected to satisfy hip-hop fans through DOK2 and Double K’s hot and fresh rapping and beats. More detail on ‘Flow 2 Flow’ will be followed soon.

[01.10.11] The Quiett Announces ILLIONAIRE’s 1st Concert

CEO of the new and highly-anticipated hip-hop label ILLIONAIRE and hip-hop artist The Quiett announced ILLIONAIRE‘s first concert: ILLIONAIRE BEGINS. According to his recent tweet, the first ILLIONAIRE concert is to be performed on January 23, 2011 (his tweet says 2010, but I’m fairly certain that was a typo).

More detail about the concert will be followed soon.

ILLIONAIRE’s first show will be performed at V-Hall in Hongdae, Seoul and features artists including Simon Dominic and E-Sens of Supreme Team, Paloalto, B-Free, and DJ Freekey.  According to DOK2 (via Twitter), pre-sale tickets will be available soon, so keep an eye out for it! pre-sale tickets are available now for purchase at HIPHOPPLAYA. Make sure to purchase them as soon as possible!
